Gas prices are hitting an all time high every year and also the supply of fossil fuels are dropping with the passage of time. Convertor kits are available today that allow your existing car to become more of a hydrogen hybrid. It allows you to add water to your car in order to fuel it. However, it is important to understand how the process exactly works. It is not the water that provides the energy. Water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen. When exposed to a process known as electrolysis, the hydrogen and oxygen are separated. The hydrogen can then be used to power the engine. Hydrogen is a very volatile gas. Due to this reason some people believe hydrogen-powered cars are a threat on the roads. However, the gasoline we use today is just as volatile. When used with car and common sense, hydrogen is no more dangerous to drivers than any other type of fuel. Another advantage is the decrease in pollution. When the internal combustion engine uses fossil fuels, they emit harmful chemicals into the atmosphere. These chemicals stay in the air and end up causing environmental threats, such as acid rain. While more water vapor may lead to more clouds and rain, it could also reduce the carcinogens in the air and prevent further damage to the planet. Besides the benefits to the environment and also to your wallet, water-powered cars have another advantage. They may extend the life of your car. Research suggests that water and hydrogen are not as hard on your engine as fossil fuels so it is likely to last longer and have fewer problems. Honda has been the center of attention for the last few decades mainly due to the innovative models it has been producing. There is a long list of models to the name of Honda but the recent model that has caused the Honda enthusiasts to go wild is the Honda Mugen Civic model which is expected to be released by mid-October 2008. It is an M-Tec Sedan coming out as the Formula One version of Civic Si, co-developed by Honda and MugenIn Japanese Mugen means "without limit" and it is an auto part manufacturer. This company was founded by Hirotoshi Honda who is the son of the founder of the original Honda Motor Company Mr. Soichiro Honda. However, Mugen is not a part of Honda Motors and has been operating independently since its foundation. Mugen is famous for the parts that it has been developing mainly due to its involvement with F1 and super GT racing. This involvement has certainly refined the production of Mugen and those who want to give their car a sports looks and most likely to buy the Mugen auto parts. The company has also been known to produce high performance and racing parts for the racers as well as the street tuners.
The Honda Mugen Civic is a 4-door car and comes in Fiji Blue Pearl color at the moment only. It is a limited version so only 1000 lucky customers will be able to drive this beautiful car around with pride. Due to the limited version fact the price and the demand for the car has gone really high and most of the dealers are currently selling it at the price of $30,000 per piece. This is the right car for the Honda lovers and enthusiasts who have long been waiting for an elegant yet sporty look four doors Sedan.
The exterior of this beautiful Fiji Blue Pearl car is wrapped in an aero body kit that integrates side skirts, front spoilers along with matte black sports grille, adjustable rear view wing and black rear bumper diffuser that is much like M3. Although these changes might seem to be minor and of little importance however when put together you get a car that gives you a unique athletic look by still maintaining the elegance and beauty of Civic Sedan. But you need not worry that people might confuse it with its Civic Si version since the Mugen Si badge is clearly displayed at the front grille, spoiler and the rear deck.
The wheels are made from aluminum weighing less then 17 pound and are 18x7.5 inch wide only. The weight of these wheels is actually 27% less then the normally available 17 inch Si wheels. These seven spokes are encircled by BF Goodrich G-Force KDW 215/40ZR18 tires which have made this model ready for any race track.
Another good feature of this new model is that the suspension has been lowered by almost 0.6 inches. This change in design has caused major impact on the performance of the car by improving the damping force by 8% in the front and huge 24% in the rear. These figures are very much reliable since the fine tuning has been performed at the Japan's Famous Race Circuit Twin Ring Motegi. Another major change that has taken place in this high performance car is that the Mugen Civic have got better catback exhaust system. This change has resulted in the back pressure to be relieved much easily and the driver getting better performance without feeling much change except for the aggressive exhaust note they might hear.
The inside of this car is also as unique yet elegant as the outside. The center console have also got the Mugen badge embedded on it along with the spherical Mugen brushed aluminum shift knob which is 2.0 inch wide only. The inside of the car have also got the familiar Si dressing like Si embroidered in red color on the front bucket seat's back.
The safety of the driver as well as the others in the car has also been taken into consideration when designing this car. This car has the famous Honda Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. This body structure ensures the safety of the driver and is able to absorb and disperse the energy of the impact when an accident takes place. And even in cases when you have to suddenly stop the car your safety has been ensured through the ABS or anti-lock braking system as well as the 3-point seat belt.

Jeep Wrangler - A 4x4 That Goes Off Road!

This week I was driving through whimsical countryside, with the leaves sweeping past my windscreen just as the road did the same and all was right with the world. Suddenly a shadow was cast over my beloved car and as I dared peak into my rear-view mirror I asked myself "What's that coming over the hill?" It was indeed a monster, in the form of a Chelsea tractor, piloted by none other than a life sized Barbie that was just a plastic. As she applied her makeup - presumably for Ken, the thought of driving seemed like an added bonus, the hand stitched hide of what appeared to be a white tiger lavished over the empty child seat next her. And then she was gone. This got me thinking. Barbie is your typical 4x4/SUV driver aka the school run mum that sees driving over a pebble as going off road. Well I hear you 4x4ers cry: "we're not all like that". I do believe there are those of you out of there that do need off-roaders and there is a simple way to show yourselves - buy a Jeep Wrangler. Oh yes, by purchasing Chrysler/Jeep's Wrangler, you say to every other wannabe off-roader that you are the real deal and the school run is a thing of the past - unless the school is atop Everest. Heritage is a key component to standing out from the crowd and the Jeep Wrangler has it in spades. So what heritage then - motor racing? No. Italian flair? No. Helping protect the world from evil? Um, yes actually. Produced by Chrysler and marketed under the 'Jeep' moniker, the Wrangler is derived from the CJ (Civilian Jeep) the go anywhere, do anything utility vehicle made famous throughout World War II, as it helped allied troops immeasurably against German invaders. Launched in 1987, the first generation Wrangler featured four wheels (five if you count the steering wheel), a drop top, large ground clearance and a roll cage. I'm really not skimping on detail, that was about it. Put simply, the reason why the civilian production version was as-near-as-makes-no-difference the same as the army's' version was because, like the military version it was designed to go off road and off road alone. Perhaps in a misguided move, Jeep launched the Schwarzenegger sounding 'Renegade' derivative of the Wrangler in 1991. However the company miss-read it's key demographic and offered it's hardcore, off road customer base 'luxuries' such as floor mats (front only), a locking glove box, engine lights and cup holders. If these features didn't alienate their customers with uselessness, the extra $7,000 (£3,500) price tag did. The Renegade sold poorly and was decommissioned in 1994, a year before the standard model gave way to it's younger brother - the generation two Wrangler. A key change was Jeep making the new Wrangler available in right hand drive as the company sought to expand its global market. Style wise, it paid heavy homage to its World War II compatriot, with circular headlights a welcome return from the much maligned square monstrosities on the Mk1. The new Jeep also featured a relatively civilised coil spring suspension - if civilised is Mike Tyson biting your ear off. Admittedly, the Wrangler was more manageable on the tarmac but wisely, Jeep didn't compromise it's off road performance. A few additions such as a radio and the updating of the interior design were also welcomed, without softening the Jeep too much. On the back of the successful Mk2, the current generation three offering was launched merely months ago and has been criticised for being too large compared to the military hero it is derived from. Personally I think the Wrangler has grown up and is now a true contender to the likes of Range Rover, the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne. To help with this, anti-lock brakes make an appearance 20 years too late, traction control appears seven years too late and Jeep are about on par with introducing Satellite Navigation. Ok, so the Wrangler may not be as good to drive on the road as an X5 or Cayenne, but its ultra reliable (the US postal service uses them extensively) and it'll still do the ugly off-road stuff with a grin on its face, whilst the Porsche struggles with a broken nail. Plus it's about $10000000000000000 (£100000000) cheaper. The latest edition is also available for military use - complete with a snorkel so the engine can breathe underwater (seriously). Jeep then have not watered down the Wrangler but with a slight measure of creature comforts it's a serious contender for the best 4x4 you can buy. I've seen the latest Barbie motoring range - Ken's cramped and his hair is blown around. She's been beaten and she's back in the sports car.

American Honda Motor Co. Inc. now releases the details, features, and the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of the 2008 model year Sedan and Coupe variants of the Honda Accord. Both model variants are available with several trim level options with exclusive features for each trim level. The 2008 Honda Accord Sedan will roll out in Honda dealers all over the U.S. starting this September 12, while the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe will go on sale in September 20th. In a recent press release, Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. commented: "The 2008 Honda Accord adds popular features and enhancements while maintaining competitive, value-oriented pricing on every model. Wonder where you can find the cars of the future? They are at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. At this year's motor show, automakers embraced the wacky, weird and gorgeous futuristic cars. Nissan Motor Co. introduced the egg-shaped Pivo 2, which can turn its wheels sideways to slot into a parking space. Inside the car is a "robotic agent" that recognizes that recognizes the driver's face, senses his mood and speak to him. Honda Motor Co. flaunted the Puyo which features a gel-filled, squashable body covering as well as ludicrously small wheels at each corner. The "silky feel" interior is similarly flexible, with controls increasing through the stretching membrane when the fuel-cell Puyo starts up.Toyota Motor Corp., not wanting to be upstaged, showcased the RiN that is said to encourage drivers to "to re-evaluate themselves and... to turn their attention to society and nature, producing a healthy rhythm for both mind and body".One of the stunners at the motor show was the Audi Metro Project quattro. This car has more normal proportions than the lightweight A2, which was a car before its time, and with its giant, mesh-filled front grille and shapely roofline. The 1.4-litre engine is borrowed from the Volkswagen Golf and has 150 base horsepower, but there is also a 41 base horsepower electric motor. So it is a hybrid, and CO2 emissions are calculated at an average 112g/km by the EC official test method.The crush around the Audi was almost frightening; the crush around the Nissan GT-R was even greater, but then this is the latest incarnation of Japan's most cult-sustaining supercar, said John Simister of The Independent. This version has a 480bhp, twin-turbo, 3.8-litre V6 and is designed to be able to maintain more than 180mph, whatever the outside temperature may be.Mitsubishi Motor Corp. presented an electric coup? version of the i-car dubbed as the MiEV and Concept ZT, a ruggedly handsome wagon which is destined for production as a new Sigma. American Honda Motor Co. Inc. now releases the details, features, and the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of the 2008 model year Sedan and Coupe variants of the Honda Accord. Both model variants are available with several trim level options with exclusive features for each trim level. The 2008 Honda Accord Sedan will roll out in Honda dealers all over the U.S. starting this September 12, while the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe will go on sale in September 20th. In a recent press release, Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. commented: "The 2008 Honda Accord adds popular features and enhancements while maintaining competitive, value-oriented pricing on every model. Mazda has given its BT-50 pickup truck a minor change and announced that the new model will help it achieve a total pickup truck sales of 12,700 in 2008, up from 11,000 units in 2007.Produced at the AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) plant in Rayong, the BT-50 is also exported to 130 global markets from Thailand. The facelifted BT-50 maintains its sporty appeal, with the new design adding a more dynamic and robust look.There is a new front pentagonal grille, along with new front bumpers, multi-reflector headlights and turning lights. Meanwhile, the rear lights are larger and come with chrome trim. The side profile is highlighted by a new wheel fender kit, as well as 15-inch or 16-inch 5-spoke wheels. There are 11 colours to choose from as well.Mazda Sales Thailand Co Ltd marketing director Sureethip La-ongthong says that the company will focus on two-wheel-drive pickup models this year. As much as 97 per cent of Mazda pickup truck sales are made up of two-wheel-drive models, while the remaining 3 per cent are four-wheel-drive models for fleet customers."Previously the ratio between two- and four-wheel-drive models was 85/15, but presently the popularity of thr four-wheel-drive models have grown," she daid.Sureethip said the company will emphasize on the 4x2 2.5-liter and 3.0-liter models, with prices starting at Bt489,000 foi the standard cab and Bt541,000 for the Freestyle cab. The 4x2 Hi Racer starts at Bt602,900 and the 4-door model at Bt612,900.Mazda is also planning to spend Bt20 million for a countrywide roadshow to 12 provinces from March to June. Caravans of the BT-50 and Mazda3 will be shown along with special activities including special stunt shows, concerts, games and prizes.
